Jesús of the Moon...

He was 38 years old when he jumped off of the terrace of a “spa” - and died. At least, that is what Wikipedia says... Maybe he thought he could fly like the birdman. Maybe he was just sick of it all and demurred the end of his water polo career; the Olympic Gold Medal, the two world championship titles all in vain? Well, at least he avoided the fate of his friend, a former handball player, who married a Spanish duchess, and is now in prison for embezzling several million Euros of public funds...

It was the 11th of March, not the Iden, I guess, when Jesús leaped forward, making his final step into the unknown. No doubt, he was an explorer… None of the awards, none of the decorations could pull him back, nor his wife, nor his daughter. I hear he used to take drugs, couldn’t handle them. But who would point fingers?

He stands tall in front of me now, with his 1,86 meters and 74 kilos, his crooked teeth and whimsical smile. Salud, Jesús! I wonder what your last thoughts have been…

Robert Johnson and the devil, man
Don't know who is gonna rip off who...

(Nick Cave, Higgs Boson Blues)

One of his absolute best. More than all the scholarly pieces in the world could ever distort and skew, poured into a couple of lines, uncovering the abyss.

Look! Here come the missionary
With his smallpox and flu
Saving them savages with his Higgs Boson Blues...
